Cute outfit alert!

This is the second time Cassandra has been in the Fashion Column! <---yay![ You can see her awesome bright yellow nails in the post below!]  I met her last week at Dub Dorado and she was wearing this cute ensemble! It kind of suprised me to see this outfit at an event like this because Dub step  is so heavy and powerful and for some reason i associate dark, textured and simple clothing with that style of music. She just stood out in her flowy Vintage polka dot skirt and high collared blouse! Way to be unique and different!

Whatever color you want is "the New black"

This summer bright and pretty nail polish will take over! Not many people put too much thought about nail color and how it coincides with the outfit you’re wearing, but you’d be surprised at what a little thing as painting your nails can do for your image. Not only is it fun to get your nails done, but it instantly makes you look cleaned up and professional, even if you’re wearing a tiffany blue! Try to step away from the “pro nails” and be natural this summer! It costs nothing to get your nails touched up at home after a day at the beach! Red is always a classic and you can never go wrong with it, but why not step out of the box and try Periwinkle?! Or Mauve? Last season Chanel introduced us to the Jade nail color, (which I will still wear no matter what season it is! ) and the soft mint shade was seen by the likes of Kate Moss and Keira Knightley.

This summers “it” color is, surprisingly enough, Taupe! Taupe is a soft, sort of muted brown/beige which was seen in Chanel’s Spring runway. Taupe is a shade that can be worn with any outfit because it doesn’t overpower your hands or what you’re wearing. It’s warm neutral shade will blend perfectly with pale breezy linens and soft comfy cottons ALL year long.

If taupe or jade are not your colors, than that’s okay! Choosing a nail color to try is like choosing clothes also. In the winter, people tend to wear warmer tones, like maroon, reds, purples, greys and black. In the spring and summer, people tend to wear cooler tones, like pastels! Choosing a nail color can be the same way if you want it to!

My picks for the warmer seasons are :

Chanel “particuliere"

Essie-”boat house”

American Apparel- “office”

Bleach black-”jizz”

OPI- “Java Mauve“

OPI Brights- "Blue My Mind"

Chanel- “Orange Fizz”

Pretty in Platforms

The patterned footwear trend this season can defenitly be thanked for by designers such as Prada’s Miu Miu. If you’re a shoe fanatic like me, you probably have already seen the Sp/Su campaign for Miu Miu.What stood out most was the shoes of course! The sparrow and kitten printed blouses and trousers made their way all the way down to the models feet in these Amazingly adorable platforms that I find myself just staring at in awe a lot.

There's nothing more pretty and girly than a printed platform shoe with a bow on top! These girls pull this Spring/Summer look off so well! Prints are no longer meant just for your top half. Wear florals, hearts, polka dots, and other retro patterns on your shoes to make a fun statement! Amy wears hers with textured black tights to keep warm, and this girl sports her adorable heart printed heels bare with pretty silver nail polish.

Brandi C in Fuschia on Black!

Have you ever been indecisive about what to wear out at night? Brandi, captured Friday at U-31, gives us a great example of a great night life outfit! It’s simple and monochromatic. Sticking with 2 color patterns is a great idea, especially if it’s black against a bright color that stands out! The best part of her outfit are those fuschia opaque tights! So when you’re getting dressed tonight, try a minimalist approach but have fun with it!
